The US Biosphere Network (USBN) is launching a workshop series aimed at empowering leaders to drive collaborative conservation efforts while enhancing socioeconomic well-being in biosphere regions. The series includes three workshops designed to equip biosphere region (BR) leaders with the tools and knowledge needed for the next decade of work.
- USBN Workshop I: Making Real Progress in Biosphere Regions
September 26, 2024, 1:00–4:00 PM EDT
This virtual session focuses on envisioning progress through collaboration in biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, and logistical support. Leaders will discuss organizational structures, resource allocation, and share successful strategies for activating and growing their biosphere regions. Registration: Please register in advance for the workshop here. - USBN Workshop II: Early 2025 (date TBD), this workshop will guide leaders through periodic reviews and renewing their BRs with UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme.
- USBN Workshop III: June 2026 (date TBD), this in-person workshop will finalize periodic reviews and develop follow-up actions from the 5th MAB World Congress and the new 10-year MAB Action Plan.
