Our Programs
Connecting Key Landscapes for Wildlife and People
Nature is life, and life requires movement and flow to function in a healthy state. Like the systems of the human body, our planet’s ecological health relies on complex, interconnected processes functioning at broad scale. Unfortunately, habitat fragmentation from roads, subdivisions, and other human development is inhibiting essential wildlife movement and nature’s resilience.
Rather than relying only on isolated solutions, the Center for Large Landscape Conservation was founded as the world’s leading driver of the large landscape approach to conservation: one that considers the movement of wildlife across entire regions and takes into account the complexities of working across multi-jurisdictional and human-dominated landscapes.
Our approach to conservation has spurred successful initiatives in North America, South America, Africa, and Asia. Explore some of our past and current projects and learn more about our work with partners to conserve large landscapes and wildlife movement worldwide.
