Michael D. Wainwright
Individual Giving Director
As Individual Giving Director, Michael brings a passion for landscape conservation and more than a decade of philanthropic leadership experience to CLLC’s team. In his role with the Center, Michael focuses on connecting generous supporters at all levels with CLLC’s inspiring vision and mission through strategic management of our annual giving and major gift programs. His passion is connecting visionary philanthropists with bold nonprofits making tangible impact in their communities, the environment, and the world.
Prior to joining the Center, Michael served in a variety of development and management roles at American Prairie, also serving as Development Director of Montana Shakespeare in the Parks and Interim Development Director of Bozeman Symphony. He is active in a variety of community organizations and serves as Executive Council with Bozeman-based Stillwater Strategy Partners, a boutique consulting firm focused on helping nonprofit causes advance their philanthropic programs. He is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and a New Leaders Council, MT, Fellow.
Michael has lived in the Gallatin Valley since 2007, and outside of nonprofit work, he enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, writing, travel, and photography.
