Policy Report: Challenges and Opportunities for Implementing Conservation Measures for Mojave Desert Tortoise Along Road

This report focuses on transportation mitigation policy issues relevant to the desert tortoise. It provides an overview of relevant federal and state policies and key stakeholders involved in related desert tortoise recovery and highlights key policy issues gleaned from the task force and key-informant interviews. This report is a product of the Desert Tortoise Transportation Ecology Task Force and was supported by CLLC, the Western Transportation Institute, ARC Solutions, and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
