Anna Wearn

Director of Government Affairs

Anna leads the Center’s US policy team and works with partners to develop and advance policies that reconnect habitat and facilitate collaborative conservation at scale. She assists state, local, Tribal, and federal policymakers to adopt and fund measures that catalyze conservation across boundaries and allow species to move throughout landscapes, including safely crossing roads.

Previously, Anna has worked for the National Forest Foundation, the Natural Resources Defense Council, the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources, and the Center for Natural Resources & Environmental Policy. She has also led ecology programs in national parks and forests across the country. Throughout her career, she has focused on conserving biodiversity on public lands, forging durable solutions to environmental conflicts, and enhancing community resilience to climate change.

In her spare time, Anna enjoys getting to know some of the landscapes she works to protect professionally. Outside the office, she can be found trail running, mountaineering, backcountry skiing, and mountain biking, hoping to catch a glimpse of wildlife across the summits and valleys of Western Montana. She also serves on boards for a local land trust and city parks department.
