The Roundtable on the Crown of the Continent is an ongoing US-Canadian forum of leaders and citizens from tribes, government agencies, local government, academia, business, industry and nonprofits working together on private and public land to ensure rich cultural heritage, ecological integrity and sustainable communities. The 18-million-acre landscape, including Glacier and Waterton Lakes National Parks, is valued not only as a unique and ecologically intact trans-boundary ecosystem, but also for the headwaters that sustain the livelihoods of millions of rural and urban communities thousands of miles downstream.
Large landscape-scale threats such as climate change and changing land uses are addressed through on the ground Adaptive Management Initiatives that encourage collaboration and shared learning across the landscape. CLLC provides fiscal sponsorship for the Roundtable on the Crown of the Continent and serves on its Leadership Team. (Map courtesy of Braided River)
