In 2018, Jacob served as a Big Sky Watershed Corps member in Browning, MT, where he helped facilitate the Ksik Stakii Project, which is designed to increase natural water storage by protecting and honoring beavers. This year, Jacob will be continuing his work on the Ksik Stakii Project while mentoring the new 2019 Big Sky Watershed Corps member and assisting the Center with other projects on the Blackfeet Nation.

During college, Jacob studied a wetland mitigation project through a joint program with Haskell Indian Nations University and traveled to Asia to observe transboundary environmental issues along the Mekong River. After graduating in 2016, Jacob completed an internship with the Council of Athabascan Tribal Governments in Fort Yukon, Alaska where he worked on a climate change adaptation project. The following spring, he returned to his home state for a position with Texas Conservation Corps.

In his free time Jacob enjoys backpacking, wildlife photography, cooking, and yoga.
