Building Communities in the High Divide

The High Divide, a critical landscape stretching across public and private lands in Idaho and Montana, is a vital wildlife connector of important large intact ecosystems, the Crown of the Continent, the Salmon-Selway Wilderness and the Greater Yellowstone ecosystems.  CLLC is helping the States of Montana and Idaho, the federal Great Northern Landscape Conservation Cooperative and the Western Governors’ Association’s Wildlife Corridor Initiative demonstrate how federal and state partners can work across state boundaries and agency jurisdictions to build resilience into the landscape by planning for drought and by protecting critical wetlands, wildlands and corridors. Our aim is to help partners organize and create a significant focal landscape in the High Divide by developing transparent collaboration efforts and collective capacity building.
